Description	:	Harold Lawrence Sheldon, 58, of Sterling, died Saturday, March 27, 1993, at his home. Funeral is 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 30, at Chancy-Walters Funeral Home with the Rev. John Roberts officiating. Sterling VFW Post No. 3541 will conduct grave-side services at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation and viewing began today at Chaney-Walters Funeral Home. Mr. Sheldon was born Sept. 14, 1934, to Lawrence and Katherine Deobald Sheldon in Sterling. He grew up in Westplains, and graduated from Sterling High School in 1953. He went on to graduate from Northeastern Junior College two years later. He played basketball at NJC. Mr. Sheldon then spent two years in the Army, and he was dis charged in August 1957. After spending two more years in the Reserves, he returned to Sterling, where he married Catherine Bob on April 23, 1960. The couple lived in Sterling until 1975, when they moved the family back to Westplains. For health reasons, he returned with his wife to Sterling in 1988. He is survived by his wife Catherine of Sterling; and children Bill Sheldon and wife Maureen of Malakoff, Texas; Tom Sheldon and wife Lisa, Dick Sheldon and wife Debbie, Sandy Cummings and husband Scott, Peggy Sheldon and Rob Kircher, all of Sterling; a sister, Lyla Knudson of Sterling; three grandchildren and two step-grand children. Memorials may be made In Memory of Lawrence Sheldon.
