Description	:	The community was stunned by the unexpected death of Harold R. Warford of Ansley. Harold had recent surgery and was released from the hospital. He reentered the hospital at Broken Bow, but it was believed that his condition was satisfactory. He was 75 years of age. Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church in Ansley. Serving as pallbearers were Leo Garniss, Charles Thompson, Edward Wrasse, Reuben Holeman, Ronald Johnson & Lloyd Warford with interment in Mason City Cemetery, arrangements by Parks Funeral Home. Harold Warford, son of Jess W. & Myrtle (Kesterson) Warford, was born 29 Jul 1902 at St. Edward, NE. As a youth he lived in the North Loup , Scotia & Arcadia area. He married Hulda Thelander & to this union one daughter, Lavina, was born. In 1925 he married Sylvia Roach Berry. After the death of his father-in-law, Sylvia's brother, William Roach, was placed in their care. Harold carried out this assignment for 30 years. After the death of Sylvia he married Irma Runyan Lowry on 8 Feb 1963. They lived in Ansley where Harold served the town in many capacities. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ansley, the Rotary Club and the Ansley Volunteer Fire Department. He was especially interested in assisting in the care of the sick & injured in the community. Survivors include his wife, Irma of Ansley; his daughter Lavina McGough of Lakewood, CA; a granddaughter Patricia Bates of Hacienda Heights, CA; 4 great-grandchildren Richard, Elizabeth & Bridget McIlravy & Brenda Lee Bates; one sister Mrs. Henry (Pearl) Nehls of Kearney, nieces, nephews & a host of friends.
