Read More	Lincoln Sentinel-Republican, May 15, 1930 Harold Groth The funeral services for Harold Groth, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Groth, whose home is southwest of Sylvan Grove, were held last Thursday afternoon, May 8. Short service was held at the home and then at the German Lutheran Church at Sylvan Grove. Harold was past 8 years of age and met his death by drowning last Monday afternoon [May 5] when he and several other children were on their way home from school in Albert Holle's car. The car became stalled, when the heavy rain started to pour down and Mr. Holle went to a nearby farm house for help, but before leaving admonished the children to remain in the car. However, just a few minutes after he left a heavy hailstorm started and the children became frightened and decided that they would run home as it seems they were only a short distance from there. By that time there was running a pretty swift current and Harold was torn from the rest of the children, being unable to overcome the power of the running water. His body was not recovered until Tuesday morning and was considerable distance from where the boy was swept into the water. The bereaved parents have the sympathy of the entire community in their hour of sorrow. This was testified to by the large crowd that came to the funeral Thursday.
