Description	:	Harris married four times. According to Mount family history, he wore the same broadcloth suit to each wedding and later was buried in it, though he bought a new pocket watch for each marriage. Harris, who served the 6th Division, 16th Army Corps at Fort Pillow, Tenn., during the Civil War, established a 100-acre family farm in 1860 in what then was Dyer County and later became part of Crockett County, which formed in 1871. He then married Harriet Blackwell in 1861, and Catherine Salisbury, though it's unclear what year. I haven't fully researched how many children he had with the first three wives, though with Harriet he had Amanda J. "Mandy" Mount, who later married Richard Edward Stephenson. Harris' final marriage was to Richard's sister, Martha Jane Stephenson, Jan. 22, 1881. Harris and Martha had at least two children, Henry Winchester Mount (b. October 7, 1882; d. July 1965) and Harris Marshall Mount (b. March 2, 1884; d. November 1962). After her husband died in 1896, Martha ran the farm with the help of her sons. Henry Mount, known as "Chester," took ownership of the family farm in 1912. As of 2009, the farm remained in the Mount family and in 2007 became the 17th Crockett County farm to be certified as a Tennessee Century Farm through a program that recognizes the contributions of Tennessee residents who have continuously owned, and kept in production, family land for at least 100 years. Harris and Martha are buried at Floyd's Chapel Cemetery in Crockett County.
