| Description | : | Harry grew up South of Zearing, IA. attending country schools, where he met Bertha, Nevada High School, and one year at Iowa State College in Ames. Through time and fortune they arrived in Rhodes in May of 1944 with their six children. Harry was employed at the Farmer's Lumber Company, which later became Rhodes Lumber Coompany. In 1949 he became postmaster, a position he held until September 1968 when he retired. He was a member of Rhodes United Methodist Church and worked in several capacities there.
