Jepson, former resident of Howard county, passed away at his home in Omaha last Wednesday, September 16th, following an illness of several months, cancerous trouble being the cause of his death. Jepson, former resident of Howard county, passed away at his home in Omaha last Wednesday, September 16th, following an illness of several months, cancerous trouble being the cause of his death. Harry Jepson was born in Oakland, California on August 13, 1889 while his parents were located out there temporarily. Returning from California the Jepson family resided in Dannebrog for a short time, next locating in Rockville, and in 1900 moved to Elba where Peter Jepson, Harry's father, opened the Elba State Bank. They resided in Elba until 1911, when they moved to Florida and there Harry resided until a few months ago when they moved to Omaha and made their home in that city until death relieved him of his sufferings. In 1915 Harry Jepson and Miss Edwina Wilson were married in Indian River City, Florida, where they resided until their removal to Omaha. To this union three children were born, all of whom, with the wife and mother, are left to mourn his death at the early age of a trifle over 42 years. In addition he leaves his brother, Lawrence, residing in South Carolina, and two sisters, Mrs. Anna McCullough and Mrs. Eudora Skow, both of Omaha. Harry had been in poor health for the past two years, but his condition was very bad since last February and of late it was only a questions of time until he would be relieved of his earthly cares. harry was a fine young man. We knew him well when he resided in Elba. We watched him grow from a young lad of eleven years until he had reached manhood, and we thought a lot of him. At one time he represented the Phonograph Elba and was a tireless worker and a square shooter in every respect. It is too bad that a fine young man like Harry Jepson should be called hence. We tender our sincere sympathy and condolence to the bereaved family in their sorrow and trouble. The funeral was held in Omaha Thursday, and the body shipped to Grand Island that evening, where it was met by C.J. Christensen who brought it to this city. On Friday forenoon the remains were taken to Dannebrog and there interred in the family plot beside his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Jepson, who passed away a number of years ago. Dannebrog News, September 24,1931, page 1: Harry Jepsen (sic) Buried Friday - Harry Jepsen of Omaha, was buried here Friday afternoon. He was a son of Peter Jepsen, who was well known in Dannebrog, having been in business here together with Peter Klindt many years ago, and who also operated a bank at Elba and a store at Cushing for many years. Harry Jepsen died at Omaha from cancer of the throat. He leaves a wife and 3 children and also 2 sisters, Mrs. Dora Skow and Mrs. Anna McCullough, both of Omaha, and also a brother, Lawrence, in Florida. The Masons, together with the Rev. J. Chr Pedersen, conducted the funeral services. Burial was made at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
