Description	:	Lovelock Review Miner, March 13, 1947. Wayfarer Loses Head Falling off S.P. Train. Falling from an eastbound Southern Pacific freight train two miles east of Humboldt House at about 2:00 p.m. Sunday, a man identified as H.C. Rickett was decapitated. The train's engineer had noticed the man riding on the water car of the train. When the train arrived in Imlay, the man's suit case was on the car, but the man was missing. The engineer so informed officials at Imlay and a search was made. The man's head had evidently been torn from the body. Sheriff A.C. Sebbas and his deputy, Adam Rose, brought the remains to Lovelock and burial took place Monday at Lone Mountain. Justice of the Peace, Annie N. Thacker, held a coroner's inquest at Imlay. On the jury were Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Noble and Hugh Davidson. The cause of death was held to have been accidental. Hedrick Journal, Wednesday, March 26, 1947 Cliff Rickett Killed March 9th. Clifton H. Rickett, 54, formerly of Hedrick was killed March 9th in a fall from a train at Humboldt, Nevada while enroute from Phoenix Arizona, where he had been a patient at Veterans' Hospital, to Nampa, Idaho, to visit a niece, Mrs. Floyd McGlothlen. He was the son of the late Mr. A.D. Rickett of Hedrick. He served in World War I and was a former railroad employee. Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Earl Hamilton of Hedrick, Mrs. Herbert Dickey of Cantril and Mrs. Oliver Tennis of Beacon, and a brother, Andrew Rickett of Knoxville. Another brother, Chief Machinist Ernest E. Rickett, died January 18th after surviving Japanese imprisonment in the Philippines. Burial was made at Humboldt.
