Carson Sr. Easley Harry Edwin Carson Sr., 85, of 142 Hood Road, died Friday, Aug. 15, 2003, at Countryside Village. Born in Pickens County, Mr. Carson was a son of the late Teddie Eli and Cora Viola Davis Carson. He was a graduate of Easley High School class of 1936, was retired from textiles and was a farmer. Mr. Carson was a member of Easley First Baptist Church and the Coley Cleveland Sunday School Class. Surviving are his son, Harry Edwin Carson Jr., and his wife, Beverly A. Carson, of Easley; his daughter, Laura Carson Jones, and her husband, Shelton J. Jones Jr., of Decatur, Ga.; and four grandchildren, Keith Jeffrey Carson, Melissa Diane Carson, Philip Carson Jones and Laura Caroline Jones. In addition to his parents, Mr. Carson was predeceased by his wife, Mattie Lou Griffin Carson. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. today in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home, Downtown, conducted by Dr. John Adams. Private burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Keith Carson, Philp Jones, Larry Alexander, Glenn Julian, Ben Griffin Jr. and Henry Earl Hood. Escort of honor will be the Coley Cleveland Sunday School Class. The body is at Robinson Funeral Home, Downtown, where the family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. today, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Francis Hospice, 414 Pettigru St., Greenville, SC 29601; or to the charity of one's choice. The family is at the home of his son: 2092 Farrs Bridge Road, Easley, SC 29640. The family extends a special thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Gray Smith, the employees of Countryside Village and St. Francis Hospice.
