Harry Taylor (44432994) Suggested edit: Taylor, Harry Henry Columbia City Post, Whitley County, Indiana December 11, 1975 A former member of the County Council and director in the Raber Co-Operative, Harry Henry Taylor, 76, died at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Miller Merry Manor. His health had been failing for the past year. On Oct. 20 he suffered a stroke. Mr. Taylor was a farm owner-operator in Jefferson township. A native of that township, he was born on Aug. 29, 1922 [sic] to James Richard Winfield and Lulu Amy Conner Taylor. His marriage was on Aug. 29, 1922 to Gertrude Iva Robinette in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Robinette, parents of the bride, the ceremony was performed by the Rev. Roy Brown. Following their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Taylor lived in Aboite township, Allen county, for a year and returned to Jefferson township for six months, then resided for two years in Washington township, but since 1926 had lived in Jefferson township. During World War II, Mr. Taylor worked at the General Electric Company in Fort Wayne and he then worked for four years with the Whitley County Highway Department while also operating his farm. He served two terms on the County Council. He was a member of Jefferson Chapel United Methodist Church, was a member of the Whitley County Farm Bureau and as a director was active in the management of the Raber Cooperative Co. Surviving are his wife, Gertrude I., R 5; one son, James H., Hickory Hills, Ill.; one daughter, Mrs. Richard L. (Dorothea E.,) Wilson, R 5; three grandchildren, Mrs. James M. (Sandy) Morrow of Etewah, Tenn., Richard H. Wilson of Kokomo, and Mrs. Richard H. (Ann) Smiths, West Lafayette; also one sister, Mrs. Ocsar (Irene) Smith, R 5. Preceding him in death were a twin sister, Harrie Marie Stephens, and a brother, Richard T. Friends may call at the J. A. DeMoney & Son Funeral Home here Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and after 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Jefferson Chapel Church where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, the Rev.
