Taylor, 83, of R 5, Columbia City, Jefferson Township, died at 6:30 p.m. Friday, June 22, at Miller's Merry Manor. Mrs. Taylor, widow of Harry H. Taylor, had been a resident at the nursing home since Feb. 20, 1980. She was born May 4, 1901 in Jefferson Township, a daughter of Harvey M. and Pearl Mae Glick Robinette. She was raised on a farm in Jefferson Township and graduated from Jefferson Center High School in 1918 and Earlham College in Richmond. Aug. 29, 1922, she was married to Harry Henry Taylor. They lived on a farm in Allen County and then moved to Washington Township, Whitley County. In 1930 they moved to the present residence in Jefferson Township. Mr. Taylor died Dec. 10, 1975. Mrs. Taylor was a member of Jefferson Chapel United Methodist Church, the WSCS of the church, and for many years served the church as a Sunday School teacher and a leader of the Methodist Youth Fellowship. Surviving are a son, James H. (Harvey) Taylor of Hickory Hills, Ill., a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Dorothea) Wilson of R 5, Columbia City; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ford Robinette of Tucson, Ariz., and Joseph Robinette of R 5, Columbia City; two sisters, Gusta Robinette and Pauline Robinette, both of R 5, Columbia City. A brother Roscoe and a sister Mrs. Imogene Barr are deceased. The funeral will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Smith and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Leonard King, pastor of Jefferson Chapel United Methodist Church officiating.
