Description	:	Harry Ray Carson, the eldest son of Henry and Ida Carson, was born in Fairmont, Nebr., on May 5, 1890. He passed away July 31, 1971. May 28, 1913, he was united in marriage to Ruth M. Barker. Three children came to bless this union, Marjorie, now Mrs. Marjorie Hayes of Lincoln; Dale of Lincoln, and Phyllis, now Mrs. James Shappell of Amarillo, Tex. Read More	Harry Ray Carson, the eldest son of Henry and Ida Carson, was born in Fairmont, Nebr., on May 5, 1890. He passed away July 31, 1971. May 28, 1913, he was united in marriage to Ruth M. Barker. Three children came to bless this union, Marjorie, now Mrs. Marjorie Hayes of Lincoln; Dale of Lincoln, and Phyllis, now Mrs. James Shappell of Amarillo, Tex. "Tater" carried the mail out of Fairmont for 51 and one-half years. At the time of his retirement June 30, 1959, he had more years in Postal service than any other carrier in the United States. He had 25 years service with the Fairmont Volunteer Fire Department. One of his greatest joys was his many little friends who came to see him often, and his six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He made his residence at the Extended Care division of the Fillmore County hospital at Geneva the past five months. He is survived by his beloved wife, Ruth; three children, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, three brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 3, at 10:30 a.m. at the Farmer-Harris Funeral Home in Fairmont with Rev. Woodrow Wilson of Geneva officiating. Pallbearers were Alfred Jorgensen, Francis Schepers, George Schepers, George White, Francis McMahon Sr. and Raymond Hall. Interment was in the Fairmont cemetery at Fairmont.
