Description	:	Funeral services for Harry Shipley were held Monday, March 27, 1961 at 2 p.m. from the Wolfe Funeral Home in Villisca with Rev. Paul C. Ellis and Rev. Clarence Moore officiating. Pallbearers were the nephews of the deceased, James Milligan, Wayne Firkins, Paul Firkins, Dean Firkins, Lee Crowell, and Charles Huss. Flowerbearers were Mrs. Marie Repass and Mrs. Myrtle Sanders. Mrs. Carolyn Harris accompanied Mrs. Mable Dunn, rendered the following vocal numbers, "Goodnight and Good Morning" and "Beyond the Sunset." Harry Shipley, son of Perry E. and Sidney Lower Shipley, was born May 13, 1884 on a farm in Taylor County, Iowa and passed away in the Rosary Hospital in Corning, Iowa on March 25, 1961 of a coronary heart attack at the age of 76 years, 10 months, and 14 days. He was united in marriage to Winifred Firkins on January 9, 1907. To this union two children were born, Wilma E. Gill of Brooks and Max A. Shipley of Lenox. Besides his wife and children, he leaves to mourn his loss, his son-in-law, Clifford Gill; daughter-in-law, Darlyene Shipley; one brother, John of Bellflower, California; one sister, Daisy Warden of Fruitland, Idaho; His parents, three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. He spend most of his life farming in Taylor and Montgomery counties, until his health began to fail. Mr and Mrs. Shipley moved to Villisca in 1951. He was a member of the Maple Grove Methodist Church of Guss, Iowa. He was a loving and devoted father and husband and will be greatly missed by his family, his relatives, neighbors, and friends.
