Mrs. Winifred Shipley, age 80, passed away Thursday, July 8 at the nursing home in Lenox. She had been in poor health for several years. Survivors are her daughter, Wilma and husband, Clifford Gill of Near Iveyville, a son Max and wife Darlene of near Clearfiled, one brother, Clint Firkins, tow sisters, Mrs. Nellie Van Alstine of Villisca, and Mrs. Rose Rogers of Des Moines, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and a large circle of friends. "Winnie" as she was known here, grew to womanhood in this community and after her marriage to Harry Shipley they continued to live here, where their two children were born, and grew to young people. Her husband passed away four years ago. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 10th at 3:30 p.m., at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Villisca, burial beside her husband in the Guss Cemetery.
