Funeral services were Friday, Dec. 11, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Keystone with the Rev. Bruce Kaltwasser officiating. Oehlerich, 85, died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 1998 at the Keystone Care Center following a lengthy illness. Funeral services were Friday, Dec. 11, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Keystone with the Rev. Bruce Kaltwasser officiating. He was born on Feb. 11, 1913 in Homer Township, rural Keystone, the son of Claus and Anna Popp Oehlerich. He married Lucille Rieck on July 3, 1951 at St. Paul's Lutheran Parsonage in Luzerne. Harry worked as a hired man for several area farmers during the depression. He served the country in the Army Air Corps during World War II as an airplane mechanic, retiring from Keystone Implement in 1978. Following his retirement, Harry worked as a handy man at the Keystone Care Center for many years. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Keystone, the Merkel Bockholdt American Legion Post #107. He served for many years on the Keystone Volunteer Fire Department and 14 years on the Keystone City Council. He is survived by one son, Jay Oehlerich and wife Joyce, Walford; one daughter, Judy Oehlerich, Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren, Katie Oerlerich, Time Oehlerich, Steve Schulte and Linda DeJong; two great grandsons, Josh Schylte and Jacob DeJong; one sister, Hilda Reinberg, Vinton; one brother-in-law Vernon Rieck and wife Helen, Luzerne; and five sisters-in-law, Iris Oehlerich, Keystone, Mildred Raley, Cedar Rapids, Irene Jensen, Belle Plaine, Dorothy Rieck, Keystone, and Lorna Rieck, Luzerne. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lucille in 1996; three brothers, John, Bill and Chris Oehlerich and three sisters, Clara Pohlman, Anna Selken and Christine Faye. Burial was in the Keystone Cemetery with military rites. Phillips Funeral Home, Keystone, was in charge of services. A memorial fund has been established. Belle Plaine Union, Dec. 16, 1998
