Description	:	The son of Peter and Mattie Mudgett Zickel, he was born in Galesburg and attended Galesburg schools. Mr. Zickel was a member of the Galesburg Christian Church where he served as a deacon and custodian for many years. He was married to Anna Ver Steeg, January 26, 1913 at Galesburg. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 1973. Mr. Zickel retired from farming in 1947. He was a lifelong resident of Jasper County and resident of Newton since 1970. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 1973. Mr. Zickel retired from farming in 1947. He was a lifelong resident of Jasper County and resident of Newton since 1970. Harry passed away at the age of 87. His funeral was held at the Johnson Funeral Chapel in Newton, Ia. The Rev. Ray Barnett, pastor of the Christian Church conducted the services. Burial will be at the Newton Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Survivors are his wife, Anna; two sons, Merle Zickel of Newton and Clifton Zickel of Laurel; two granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Mrs. Dan Montgomery and Mrs. Lettie Bond both of Oakaloosa, Mrs. Lawrence Schultz of Ewart and Mrs. Arie Ver Steeg of Pella. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Chester in 1965. An obituary was published in the Newton Daily News, Newton Ia newspaper.
