Description	:	Harvey John Oosthoek was born September 2, 1905, near Kilbourn, Iowa the son of John and Bertha Oosthoek, and departed this life at 11:15 A.M., Monday May 30, 1960 at the Van Buren County Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua at the age of 54. Read More	Harvey John Oosthoek was born September 2, 1905, near Kilbourn, Iowa the son of John and Bertha Oosthoek, and departed this life at 11:15 A.M., Monday May 30, 1960 at the Van Buren County Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua at the age of 54. He had been in poor health for a year and a half. On December 4, 1929, he was married to Dortha Waits, who survives, along with his parents, one daughter, Mrs. Betty Beasley of Pace, Florida, three grandchildren, a twin brother, Martin Oosthoek of Wessington Springs, South Dakota, and two sisters, Mrs. May Moore of near Birmingham and Mrs. Hendrika Bennett of near Douds, a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Wilma, on September 27, 1955. He was a member of the Bible Baptist Church of Douds. He farmed several years before beginning work at the Pedrick Hardware Store in October 1949. Funeral services were held at 2 P.M. Thursday June 2 at the Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, conducted by the Rev. Glenn Fuller, Baptist minister. Nephews served as pall bearers. Mrs. DeVern Smith was the soloist, accompanied by Elsie M. Olson. Interment was in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
