Read More	The Vermillion Times Thursday August 18, 192 Page 1 Harve Yoder Dies Suddenly The community was considerable shocked last Thursday evening when the report was passed around that Harve Yoder had dropped dead in the street while on his way home from his day's work. He had been helping H. F. Russell haul coal that afternoon and while Mr. Russell was unloading the last load, he took the other team and started on home. When going along the street north of C. D. Tompkins resident, he was stricken with apoplexy and dropped over dead on the culvert just west of Mr. Tompkins house. It was but a few minutes until some of the neighbors learned of the sad affair and everything was done that could be done under the circumstances for the body and the bereaved family. Dr. Brady was called from Frankfort but there was nothing he could do. Harvey Yoder was born at White Pigeon, Elkhart County, Indiana on July 14, 1874 and died at Vermillion, Kansas on August 11, 1921 aged 47 years and 29 days. He came to Kansas with his parents when quite small and has made this state his home ever since. He was united in marriage with Miss Pearl Tate of this place on July 2, 1905 and to this union was born seven children, two of whom died in infancy. The surviving children are Walter, 11 years; Orville, 8; Donald, 6, Sylvester, 3; Gordon, 10 months. The deceased had been in poor health for about eighteen months but had kept faithfully at work, complaining but little at any time. Mr. Yoder was a quiet unassuming man, a good neighbor, a kind husband and loving father. He united with the Methodist church at Concordia when about 25 years of age. Besides his wife and children, he leaves to mourn his loss two brothers, Jesse of Concordia and Benjamin and a sister, Goldie and his stepmother, Mrs. Hannah Yoder. The last three named live a Jolly, Iowa. Jesse and Mrs. Yoder were present at the funeral. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church, Sunday afternoon, Rev. A. B. Moore of the Christian church officiating, and the body was laid to rest in the Vermillion Cemetery.
