Interment was made in Chester cemetery (sic). Hazel Grace Woodward, was born September 11, 1908, at Chester, Nebraska, where she has spent her life. She graduated from the Chester high school with the class of 1925. She attended Nebraska Wesleyan University, and taught two years of school near Chester. When she was nine years old, she became a member of the Methodist Church, and was an active worker in the Sunday School. She was president of the Epworth League for three years. Her life was one of service, and she enjoyed using her talents for others. She was a loyal member of the Eastern Star and always willing to do her share. On June 2, 1931, at a triple wedding ceremony presided over by Rev. E.L. Corbit, at her parent's home, she became the bride of Marion M. Palmer. This happy home was blessed with a baby son, only ten days before his dear mother was taken away. Besides her husband and baby, Duane, she is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Woodward, five sisters: Mrs. J.B. Gallion, Mrs. G.H. Segrist, Wilma, Helen Mae and Norma, and one brother, Burns. Besides these there are many other relatives and a host of loving friends. She lived a life of devoted christian service, and her implicit faith in God strengthened her for the intense suffering during the last few days. She was patient, uttering no word of complaint. Her constant thought was for those around her. In her last hours she expressed her continuing faith in her Heavenly Father. In the early morning hours of February 14, 1933 she fell asleep and went to her heavenly home at the age of 24 years, 5 months, and 3 days. Swing softly, heavenly gate, Thy portal passed, no more to roam; Our traveler finds her journey o'er, And, rests at last in 'Home Sweet Home.'" Belleville (Kansas) Telescope 23 Feb 1933 Mrs. Marion Palmer Hazel Woodward Palmer, wife of Marion Palmer, died at her home Tuesday, February 14, leaving her husband and an infant son born February 4. Funeral Services were held Wednesday at 2:00 from the Methodist church at Chester. Mrs Palmer was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Woodward of Chester and was the youngest of their three daughters married at a triple wedding ceremony in June 1931.
