She was born to the late Roy H. and Ruby (Severns) Miller at Geneva, Nebraska, on June 27, 1929. She was one of seven children in the family, and attended District No. 30 school through eighth grade, graduating high school at Geneva in 1947. She was baptized in the EUB Chelsea Church in 1929. Read More	Hazel Jean Ewalt, 89, died peacefully on December 8, 2018, at Hillcrest Firethorn, Lincoln, Nebraska. She was born to the late Roy H. and Ruby (Severns) Miller at Geneva, Nebraska, on June 27, 1929. She was one of seven children in the family, and attended District No. 30 school through eighth grade, graduating high school at Geneva in 1947. She was baptized in the EUB Chelsea Church in 1929. On August 10, 1947, she married Reginald R. Koehn of Exeter, at the Exeter Methodist Church. They made their home on the family farm northwest of Exeter. They were the parents of three children. For many years, she enjoyed her vegetable garden, tending it in the early morning hours. A joy of farm living was seeing the beautiful sunrises and sunsets. She enjoyed sewing and doing needlework. Family vacations and meals together were an enjoyment to her. She was a member of the United Church of Christ of Exeter, and was active in church and community activities, serving on boards and committees, especially when they involved her children. She was a member of the Eastern Star. In 1974, Reginald and Hazel moved from the family farm to their home in Exeter, where he passed away in August of 1989. In 1993, she married Robert L. Ewalt of Geneva. They enjoyed traveling and witner trips to Florida. In 2005, they moved from Geneva to York; Robert passed away in 2007. She continued in their home until 2018, when she moved to Lincoln. Preceding her in death are her parents, Roy H. and Ruby E. Miller; brothers, Charles, Clair and Irvin; sisters-in-law, Mildred Miller and Charlene MIller; sisters, Marie Andrews, Suzanne Koozer and Joann Jackson; and brother-in-law, Bill Jackson. Survivors include her children; Lynda Norman (Jim), Thomas Koehn (Theresa), and Pamela Prosser (John), 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband in later years, Robert L. Ewalt, and survived by stepchildren Barbara Kamler, Penny Aspegren (Daniel) and Steve Ewalt (Sally), 6 step grandchildren and 9 step great grandchildren.
