Description	:	H. Joan "Joan" Hunt was born May 17, 1929 at Liberty, Nebraska, the fifth of six children of Benton Roy "Roy" and Leona M. (Hallett) Ellison. Joan, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2014 at the Christian Homes Care Community, Holdrege, Nebraska. Joan received her education in several schools in southeast Nebraska. Following her education, Joan began to be courted by her future husband, Dean Gilbert Hunt from Orleans, Nebraska. Joan "Joan" Hunt was born May 17, 1929 at Liberty, Nebraska, the fifth of six children of Benton Roy "Roy" and Leona M. (Hallett) Ellison. Joan, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2014 at the Christian Homes Care Community, Holdrege, Nebraska. Joan received her education in several schools in southeast Nebraska. Following her education, Joan began to be courted by her future husband, Dean Gilbert Hunt from Orleans, Nebraska. On June 24, 1947, Joan was united in marriage to Dean Gilbert Hunt at Norton, Kansas. To this union four children were born: Danny, Eugene, Jonell and Keith. Dean and Joan began farming with his father in the Orleans, Nebraska area until the spring of 1960, when they engaged in farming west of Ragan, Nebraska. In 1966, the Hunt family was recognized as one of the "Outstanding Farm Families" of Harlan County, Nebraska by the Soil Conservation Service. Joan loved being a farm wife, mother, and grandmother. On September 16, 1980, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dean. As a young mother, Joan enjoyed many friendship bonds formed through the years as a member of the Hub-Bub Club. She loved to play cards, and was a member of several card clubs in years past. Her hobbies included tending to her flower garden, crocheting and sewing many items that she enjoyed sharing with her family and all the grandchildren have found memories of Grandma's immense collection of ceramic mice. Joan was presided in death by : Parents; husband, Dean Gilbert Hunt; sons, Danny Dean and Keith Hunt; brothers, Ralph and Melvin and sisters, Marjorie and Dorothy. Joan leaves to mourn her passing: son, Eugene Hunt and his wife, Gayla of Holdrege, Nebraska; daughter, Jonell Mueller and her husband, Brad of Funk, Nebraska; daughter-in-law, Patricia Hunt of Lincoln, Nebraska; twelve grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; sister, Clara Alt of Lincoln, Nebraska and a host of relatives and friends. Memorial Services for Joan Hunt was conducted at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home, Holdrege, Nebraska on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with Chaplain Dwayne Dow as officiator. Interment was in Prairie Home Cemetery, Holdrege, Nebraska.
