Born in Harbourton, NJ, March 4, 1921, she was 93. Mrs. Niederer lived in Hopewell Township all her life. She graduated from Hopewell Valley Regional School District in 1938 and attended the Rider Business School in Trenton. She was a member of the Titusville Presbyterian Church and the Women's Group. She volunteered at Mercer Medical Center (Capital Health) in Trenton for 28 years and was chairman of the Student Nurse Committee for six years. Her enjoyment was entertaining family and friends, engaging in her many hobbies and gardening. She was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Anna (Leigh) Van Dyke; her husband, Arthur F. Niederer; her son, Gregory; her siblings, Estelle, Alice and Harriet (infant). Surviving are her two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Michele Niederer of Pennington and Robert and Catherine Niederer of Rumson; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Niederer) Closson and her husband, Joseph, of Titusville; Michael Niederer, Kyle Niederer and Laura Niederer; two step grandchildren, Robert and Tad Gaffey. Hazel was the eldest of the entire Niederer families, surviving are her many Niederer relatives throughout the United States and Switzerland; a few Van Dyke cousins; many close friends, and an extended family.
