Mr. Zielke died late Friday, November 22 at Five Counties Hospital in Lemmon, following a brief illness. Rev. John Langehough officiated at the services. Eldon Jensen, accompanied by Mrs. Arthur Olien, sang "Beautiful Savior" and "Lead On O King Eternal." Burial was in Greenhill Cemetery. Henry Carl Zielke was born September 23, 1889 at Bird City, Kansas. He was baptized in the Lutheran Church October 13, 1889. He was confirmed on November 11, 1923. He received his education in the schools of Cheyenne county. He spent several years of his early life with his sisters at Utica, Nebraska. During World War I he served overseas in the armed forces. Shortly after his discharge from the armed forces he was instrumental in helping organize the American Legion Post at Utica, Nebraska. He returned to Bird City and became a farmer. He married December 6, 1922 to Olga Flemming at Bird City. They established their home in Cheyenne county. In 1945 they moved to Flagler, Colorado, and in November 1961 they moved to Lemmon, South Dakota. Surviving relatives include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Alfred (Lorena) Meyer of Boulder, and Mrs. Tom (Dolores) Kyle of Flagler; a son Arnold Zielke, of Keldron, South Dakota; four grandchildren, Laura and Mary Meyer and Ronald and Keith Zielke; two nephews, Jo and Delbert Flemming, who lived with the Zielkes foe several years;three sisters, Augusta Nelson and Minnie Althouse of Utica, Nebraska and Caroline Bereuter of Bloomfield, Nebraska; four brothers, Albert of St. Francis, KS., Herman of Bird City, KS., Arthur of Goodland, KS., and George of Mosses Lake, Washington.He was preceded in death by one son.
