Description	:	William Zielke, who had been connected with this country since back in 1886, passed away on the St. Francis hospital last Thursday. He had been in failing health for some months but was taken to the hospital only a few days prior to his death. Funeral services were held last Saturday at the Lutheran Church in this city and were conducted by Rev. E. M. Mueller. Internment was in the cemetery at Cheyenne Valley Lutheran Church. Read More	William Zielke, who had been connected with this country since back in 1886, passed away on the St. Francis hospital last Thursday. Funeral services were held last Saturday at the Lutheran Church in this city and were conducted by Rev. E. M. Mueller. Internment was in the cemetery at Cheyenne Valley Lutheran Church. The following history of his life, prepared by his pastor and read at the services: It is appointed unto man once to die and thus the end also came to Mr. William Zielke at a ripe old age. He was born April 15, 1858 in South Prussia, Germany. Early in his infancy his parents brought him to Christ in Holy Baptism and thus God made him his child. He received his Christian training and education in the community of his birth. At the age of 14 he was confirmed in the Christian faith as confessed by the Evangelical Lutheran Church, to which he remained true all his life. In the year 1872 he came to America with his mother and settled in the state of Illinois. Later he moved to Seward County , Nebraska where he met Miss Marie Boehme, to whom he was married March 2, 1882. This union was blessed with nine children. They are Mrs. Augusta Nelson and Mrs. Minnie Althouse of Utica, Nebraska; Mrs. Lena Bereuter of Gresham, Nebraska; Albert and Arthur of St. Francis; George of Almsville, Oregon; Henry of Benkelman, Nebraska; and Herman of Bird City, Kansas. One daughter, Marie, died in infancy in 1896. In the year 1886 the family moved to Cheyenne County, Kansas, south of Bird City. All the children were born in Cheyenne County with the exception of the two oldest daughters. The family lived south of Bird City until 1894 when they moved to Randolph, Illinois for a year and then returned to the home south of St. Francis, where they lived for thirty years. On September 16, 1933, six years today it pleased the God to take from his side his beloved wife. From that day on his home was broken up. For the next two years he lived with his three daughters and for the last four years he lived alone in St. Francis. His health was good until September 9, when cerebral hemmorrhages took place which caused his death, September 14, at 9:30 a.m. Mr Zielke was a good neighbor and a faithful member of the Lutheran Church. He was regular at the Holy Communion table. During his illness as his pastor, I was permitted to serve him with the word of God regularly. May he rest in peace. His days days were 81 years, 4 months and 29 days. He leaves to mourn his eight children, 20 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, one brother, Albert of Hanleyville, California; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Winnerger, Lincoln, Nebraska; and Mrs. Augusta Monte, Hastings, Nebraska, besides many relatives and friends.
