Description	:	On the old home place where he had spent the major portion of his life occurred last Friday morning the death of Mr Henry Oehlson, one of our aged and respected citizens for many years. Henry Oehlson was born in Hannover, Germany on October 1, 1831, and came to this country in 1859, coming directly to Illinois, where he lived for two years, moving to Iowa with the bride he found in our neighboring state, in 1861. Read More	On the old home place where he had spent the major portion of his life occurred last Friday morning the death of Mr Henry Oehlson, one of our aged and respected citizens for many years. Henry Oehlson was born in Hannover, Germany on October 1, 1831, and came to this country in 1859, coming directly to Illinois, where he lived for two years, moving to Iowa with the bride he found in our neighboring state, in 1861. Since then he has lived continuously on the old home place four miles north of State Center. He leaves to mourn his loss one son, Henry Oehlson Jr, and four daughters, Dora living at home, Mrs Mary Parsons and Mrs Amelia Hennies of this vicinity and Mrs Lizzie Oehlson of Marshalltown. Two daughters and two sons preceded their father in death. Mr Oehlson was a prominent farmer of the French Grove neighborhood for many years and for thirty years has been connected with the French Grove Lutheran Church in an official capacity, acting as Deacon and trustee of the church. The funeral was held at State Center November 4, Rev Markworth of the French Grove Lutheran Church conducting the services. Burial was made at French Grove cemetery. November 8, 1917 State Center Enterprise.
