He came to America in 1902 and homesteaded in the vicinity of Garrison, N. Dak. He married Rosalia Neuberger in 1905. In 1947 Mr. and Mrs. Sayler moved to Garrison. The deceased was baptized in infancy and later confirmed. He was a faithful member of the German Congregational Church of Garrison, having dedicated his life to the Savior early in his life. He had been in ill health for several years, when he passed away December 8, 1957, at the age of 73 years and several months. He is survived by his widow; 6 sons, 6 daughters, 29 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, one brother, one sister and a host of friends. May the good Lord bless all who mourn. Orman, Pastor =============================== McLean County HERITAGE BOOK, Pg# 685 — Henry SAYLER came to the United States in 1902 and homestead in Platt Township, 8 miles northwest of Garrison. After their marriage they settled near Mannhaven, North Dakota. In the winter of 1936, Mr Sayler worked on the Conklin Dam, which was WPA project and was almost entirely built by man and his team of horses. The SAYLERs retired in 1948 and moved into Garrison, North Dakota. =============================== Heinrich M SAYLER born 2 February 1884 in Johannestal, Beresan, Odessa, South Russia was the son of Michael SAYLER and Karolina "Carrie" DIEDE. Heinrich at age 18 with his parents and siblings; Jacob, Rosina, Katherina and Carl, sailed from the port of Bremen, Germany on the 3rd of June 1902 and arrived at Ellis Island, New York aboard the SS "Kaiser Wilhelm der Grosse" on the 9th of June 1902. Heinrich SAYLER married Rosalia NEUBERGER on the 2nd of September 1905 in Stanton, Mercer County, North Dakota. This union was blessed with 12 children; Reinhold, Catherine, Lydia, Herbert, Ernest, Martha, Rudolph, Alma, John, Leonard, Ida and Lorraine.
