Eunice was born March 18, 1927, in Douglas Township, McLean County. She was baptized, confirmed and attended church in Douglas and Garrison. Eunice was raised by her grandparents, aunts and uncles. She married Wilber Hill on Oct. 22, 1944, in the Garrison Congregational Church. She was very active in her church, taught Sunday school, past-president of Ladies Aid, St. Peter's Lutheran Church Council and a member of the Roseglen Church Council. She loved to sew, bake, garden, play piano, raise animals, and keep her home spotless for her family. Eunice took care of both her mother, Catherine, and husband, Wilber, when their health started failing. After they passed away, she enjoyed traveling, walks, card playing, writing poetry; she loved music and was always singing at church and local functions. She enjoyed volunteering and belonged to R.S.V.P. until her health limited her. Eunice worked outside her home in the 1970s for the White Shield School District. Eunice and Wilber farmed near Garrison for five decades and helped and received help from other area farmers. Eunice was especially touched by all the local farmers when they came to harvest the fall of 1978 crop after Wilber's heart attack, and the area wives cooked several meals. Eunice loved her family and friends and was very thankful for all the gifts God blessed her and her family. She will be missed by all who knew her. Eunice is survived by her daughters, Carol, and Korliss and her husband, Robert; son, Greg and his wife, Susan; and her four apostle grandsons, Matthew, Mark and wife, Sarah, Luke and John. Eunice was preceded in death by her husband, Wilber; and her mother, Catherine. Memorials may be given to the Baptist Home in Bismarck, American Heart Association, Scleroderma Association or for cancer research. Also, remember that we are bidding farewell to a member of the "Greatest Generation."
