She was 59 years of age. Read More	CAME TO SIOUX COUNTY IN 1871 MRS. P.L. SCHOEP ACCOMPANIED PIONEER PARENTS FROM PELLA. Mrs. P.L. Schoep died Sunday evening at her home here after a long illness. She was 59 years of age. Mrs. Schoep, whose maiden name was Heintje Vander Stoep, was born in Marion county, Iowa, near Pella and when still a baby made the trip from Pella to Sioux county with her pioneer parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. Vander Stoep, who came with the first settlers in the year 1871. The family lived east of Orange City for many years and here the daughter was married some 43 years ago to Peter L. Schoep. They farmed five miles east of Sioux Center for some years but for the past 30 years have called Sioux Center their home. A year ago last fall the family went to California, but Mrs. Schoep's health did not improve and she was anxious to return to her friends, family and home in Sioux county. Her wish was fulfilled and she passed away with her children about her. She is survived by her husband and six children, Andrew of Milwaukee, Gerrit of Primghar, Mrs. Arnold Vander Wilt of Glendale, Calif., Mrs. John Gotz of Sioux Center, Mrs. C. Butler of LeMars and Harriet at home; by three brothers, Frank Vander Stoep of Glendale, Calif., Floris Vander Stoep of Edgerton, Minn., and Andrew Vander Stoep of Sioux Center. A sister, Mrs. John Ellerbroek died five years ago and another sister, Mrs. O. De Roos three years ago, while a brother, Claas Vander Stoep of Maurice passed on about two years ago. Funeral services were held at the home at one o'clock Wednesday afternoon and at two o'clock at Central Reformed church, in charge of Rev. A. Haverkamp. The community unites in sympathy for the bereaved family in the passing of a devoted wife and mother. Alton Democrat 1929-01-18.
