Mrs. Almon was born Helen Ann Mossburgh on Feb. 27, 1945, at Concordia. She owned and operated ABC of Hair Design in Concordia, where she worked as a cosmetologist. She also worked at the Moose Lodge in Concordia. She was a member of the Women of the Moose, American Legion Post 76 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 588 auxiliaries and St. Ann's Society of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, all of Concordia. She was preceded in death by a grandson. Survivors include her husband, Carl of Aurora; a son, Mike Wood of Wichita; a daughter, Jan Anderson of Assaria; her mother, Blanche Mossburgh of Concordia; a, brother, Steve Mossburgh of Palmer, Alaska; a sister, Linda Thoman of Concordia; and two grandchildren. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Chapel, Concordia, the Rev. C.J. Conklin officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Aurora. A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Visitation will be after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, 325 W- Sixth, Concordia 66901.
