She was attended by Miss Nellie Barrett attired in a gown of pale blue silk and carrying a large bouquet of white carnations. The groom, attired in the conventional black, was attended by L. W. Mack. After the marriage ceremony the bridal party and a few guests, immediately friends or relatives of the bride and groom, repaired to the dining room where a wedding supper was very prettily served. HELEN BARRETT DIES AFTER LENGTHY ILLNESS Mrs. Helen Augusta Barrett, 57, died yesterday after a lengthy illness. She was the widow of Peter C. Barrett who preceded her in death August 18, 1939. Mrs. Barrett was the daughter of William and Bertha Goms, born May 12, 1885 at Henderson. Minnesota. She came to Havre in 1903 and was married to Peter C. Barrett, February 26, 1906. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Emma Armstrong of Havre; two brothers, Fred Goms of Havre and Herbert Goms of Minneapolis, and four daughters, Mrs. Clarence Crawford, Mrs. Leonard Miller, Kathleen Barrett and Rosemary Barrett all of Havre, also by a grandson, William Barrett Crawford. Mrs. Barrett was always patient and cheerful and her thoughtfulness was admired by all who knew her. She was a member of Royal Neighbors of America. Rosary will be said at the Holland and Bonine funeral home Friday night at 8 o'clock and funeral services will be held at St. Jude's church, Saturday morning at 9 o'clock. Havre Daily News, 25 May 1942, p. 6, c. 3 REQUIEM HIGH MASS SAID FOR MRS. HELEN BARRETT Requiem high mass was said Saturday [May 23] for Mrs. Helen A. Barrett who died May 20 at a local hospital. Burial was made in Calvary cemetery beside her husband, the late P.C. Barrett, who preceded her in death, August, 1929. Mass was sung by Rev. Father O'Brien, accompanied by the school choir, and a solo, "Ave Maria" was sue: by Rita Sinnott. Father O'Brien used the subject, "Mother" for his sermon, which he explained exemplified the life of Mrs. Barrett. Pallbearers were LaRue Thomas, Scott Lucke, Jack Malon, Charles Crawford, Carl Willard and Phil Corniea. Mrs. Barrett was born May 12, 1885 at Henderson, Minn., her maiden name being Helen Goms. She came to Havre in 1903. On Feb. 26, 1906, she was married to Peter C. Barrett, and had resided in Havre since that time. For the past four years she had been been confined to her home. Survivors includes four daughters: Misses Kathleen and Rosemary Barrett, Mrs. C.L. Crawford and Mrs. Leonard Miller; one grandson, William Barrett Crawford; a sister, Mrs. Emma Armstrong of Havre; two brothers, Fred Gomes of Havre and Herbert Gomes of Minneapolis, Minn.
