Description	:	Helen Emroy Carrie was born and raised in Cloverdale to Jennie Emroy (Taylor) and Henry Cummings Carrie. She was active in numerous school programs such as the debate team, journalism, yearbook crew, the drama club, and music. She also played girl's basketball, and girl's softball on the Cloverdale High School teams. After graduating high school, Helen attended the University of California at Berkeley where she obtained a degree in education. She returned to Cloverdale and taught school while her boyfriend, George V.H. Cooley, also of Cloverdale, remained at Berkeley working on his civil engineering degree. Upon his... Upon his graduation, they were married, and moved to Oakland where George worked as an engineer and Helen taught grade school. In 1930, Helen and George welcomed a baby boy and soon after, moved to Walnut Creek where they purchased a family home. While they worked and lived in Walnut Creek, they still maintained strong ties with their families and friends in Cloverdale and Healdsburg and visited there often. Helen died on June 19, 1984 at the age of 86. Her husband died three years later. They are laid to rest in the Pacheco Pioneer Cemetery. ༺⊰❁༺⊰❁༺⊰❁༺⊰❁༺
