Description	:	Helen I. Moore, 97, of Vermillion, South Dakota passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Wel-Cov Assisted Living in Elk Point. Helen Erickson Moore was born in Vermillion, South Dakota on March 5, 1921 to Harry and Anna Peterson. Helen married Kenneth Erickson in December 1941. They farmed southwest of Vermillion and had three children. Kenneth died from a truck/car accident in 1954; she and the children moved to town. Moore, 97, of Vermillion, South Dakota passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Wel-Cov Assisted Living in Elk Point. Helen Erickson Moore was born in Vermillion, South Dakota on March 5, 1921 to Harry and Anna Peterson. Helen married Kenneth Erickson in December 1941. They farmed southwest of Vermillion and had three children. Kenneth died from a truck/car accident in 1954; she and the children moved to town. Helen was appointed Clay County Treasurer in 1964 after working there many years until her retirement in 1992. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. Helen is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Howard) Ernst, of Columbus, Nebraska; her grandsons, Steve Ernst of Omaha, Nebraska, Michael of Lincoln, Nebraska, Scott of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Kenny Erickson of Vermillion, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her son-in-law, Dean Amundson; Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; her parents, Harry and Anna Peterson; her daughter, Linda Amundson, and her son, Richard Erickson; her daughter-in-law, Cathy Erickson; her grandchildren, Ellen Catherine Ernst, Tim Amundson, and Jamie Erickson.
