Description	:	Helen Jane (Jackson) Weeks was born on the State Line Road on the Jackson farm, went to school in a one room schoolhouse with a wood stove in the center for wintry days warmth; and she walked to get there if she didn't ride a pony.She won some spelling bee championships in the county, tails of which entertained and encouraged me immensely. "Granny" rescued me and numerous other youngsters for whom she always seemed to care from the depths of youthful foolishness and ignorance, set our feet upon the path of learning to love learning, making it fun, revealing the tricks to make it happen. She raised six children of her own and helped raise me, Marilyn (Cress) her 2nd daughter's oldest child. She nursed me back to health on numerous occasions. I owe her my life and whatever small accomplishments I achieved in teaching my own children as well as working as a teacher. She gave me hope and made me feel loved. I know she and Grandpa did this for other children as well. They lent that extra special intangible element that makes life rich, although they were always so busy giving they really never owned much besides their home and a car. No prince or princess felt more wealth of those things that truly matter than we children who got to stay overnight at their home.
