Helen was born in Hicksville on November 9, 1925 to the late Karl and Bessie (Stackhouse) Osmun. She was a 1943 graduate of Hicksville High School and she was united in marriage to Chester Metz on January 25, 1947. She was the owner of the Redwood Motel from its opening in 1957 until she sold it in 1990. In her athletic years she enjoyed bowling and playing golf. Read More	Helen L Metz, 90, died Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Community Inpatient Hospice Center, Defiance, Ohio. Helen was born in Hicksville on November 9, 1925 to the late Karl and Bessie (Stackhouse) Osmun. She was a 1943 graduate of Hicksville High School and she was united in marriage to Chester Metz on January 25, 1947. She was the owner of the Redwood Motel from its opening in 1957 until she sold it in 1990. In her athletic years she enjoyed bowling and playing golf. She was a very passionate fan of the Indiana Pacers. She also had a love for all animals and was known to nurse sick ones back to health. Helen was a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientists in Boston, Massachusetts and Auburn, Indiana. Helen is survived by her husband Chet, a son James, a granddaughter Ollie (Frank) Rindos, two great grandchildren Grant and Faith Rindos and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, three brothers and five sisters. Visitation for Helen will be Friday from 2:00-7:00 at Smith & Brown Funeral Home in Hicksville. A private burial will take place Saturday at Six Corners Cemetery.
