Hill passed away peacefully on May 20, 2009, with family by her side. Helen was born at home July 2, 1918, in Custer. She attended Custer High, graduating in 1936. Later, she married Clyde Taylor of Hysham and had a daughter, Janice, by that union in 1939. They were later separated and Helen became employed by the Billings Gazette. Her next step in life was The Billings Clinic. She met Ben B. Hill in Billings and were united in marriage on June 27, 1951. Helen and Ben moved to Lewistown in 1953, where they had a son, Ben J. As Ben B. worked for the government, the following moves took them to Glendive, Plentywood, Havre, finally residing back in Billings in 1965. Helen returned to work at The Billings Clinic, where she retired in 1983. Ben B. passed away on March 7, 1992. Helen is remembered for her love for music and for her love to dance. She was quite a tap dancer in her day. She had a marvelous sense of humor and very quick wit. In September of 2005, Helen became one of the first residents of the Moorberg Cottage on Shiloh Road. There, she was reunited with a childhood friend, Bertha Brooks, and an old friendship was revived. They did everything together. That friendship created richer rewards than winning any lottery. Helen's care at Moorberg was superb. They became a second family to her. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Galen and Jessie Ving; her husband, Ben; her brother, Leon Ving; and two sisters, Ladonna McDermid and Avangia Mahoney. She is survived by her two children, Ben (Holly) Hill, Janice (Don) Weikert of Billings. Included are six grandchildren, Tim(Jan) Weikert, Kevin (Jessie) Weikert, Cheri Dawn (Tray) Overdorf, Crystal Hill, Kyle Hill, Candra Clark; 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Mom, we will miss you and love you always. Please say "Hi" to Dad for us. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, at Smith's Downtown Chapel, located at 925 S. 27th St. Interment will follow in the Custer Cemetery, Custer. Visitation begins 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 26. Any memorial donations can be sent to Moorberg Cottage, St. Johns Lutheran Ministries, 3940 Rimrock Road, Billings, MT 59102. Everybody loves Helen, her special smile and twinkle in her eye, and dance always in her feet. "Happy Feet" - Moorberg Staff.
