Robert Ohnstad officiating. Burial of her cremated remains will be G.A.R. Cemetery, Miller, at a later date. Helen was born August 18, 1919 in Faith, South Dakota to Edwin and Anna (Petersen) Siegling. She attended school in St. Lawrence and later graduated from Miller High School in 1939. Helen was born August 18, 1919 in Faith, South Dakota to Edwin and Anna (Petersen) Siegling. She attended school in St. Lawrence and later graduated from Miller High School in 1939. On August 18, 1947, she married Edward Labor in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Helen and Edward were blessed with having five children: Larry, Gene, JoAnne, Barbara and Cheryl. Her husband Edward passed away in 1995 and Helen later moved to the Miller Manor on May 1, 2002. She enjoyed reading, gardening, outdoor activities, traveling and spending time with family and friends. Helen was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Hand County Extension Club, Trinity Lutheran Hope Circle and Women's Auxiliary. Grateful to have shared in her life are her children: Gene (Bev) Labor of Miller, S.D., JoAnne (Darwin) Peterson of Huron, S.D., Barbara (David) Templeton of Pierre, S.D., and Cheryl (Gene) Ludens of Springfield, S.D.; daughter-in-law, Janice Hancock of Fort Worth, Texas; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and two sisters, Marie Hargens and Elizabeth Haberling of Miller, S.D. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward; and son, Larry. Casket bearers were her grandchildren: Philp Peterson, Ashley Peterson, Brian Templeton, Mallory Ludens, Gina Ludens, Peter Hancock, Chantele Perkinson, and Justin Hancock.
