Description	:	Helen Viola Hodge, 93, of Low Moor, died Monday, July 24, 2006, of stomach cancer at her home. Born December 14, 1912, in Middletown, she was the daughter of Henry Clay Dean and Maggie Myrtle Walker. On August 31, 1942, she married Lloyd Lee Hodge. He died December 17, 1991. Mrs. Hodge worked with a local doctor as a midwife and home nurse. She also did housekeeping for various farms. She was a member of LeClaire Baptist Church. She made it through the eighth grade. Born December 14, 1912, in Middletown, she was the daughter of Henry Clay Dean and Maggie Myrtle Walker. On August 31, 1942, she married Lloyd Lee Hodge. He died December 17, 1991. Mrs. Hodge worked with a local doctor as a midwife and home nurse. She also did housekeeping for various farms. She was a member of LeClaire Baptist Church. She made it through the eighth grade. She and her husband went to church every day. In 1958, she and her husband moved into a trailer park in Bettendorf. She held back yard Bible clubs once a week. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, needlework, crocheting, gardening, and cooking. She worked with her husband repairing and remodeling a home in Low Moor. Survivors include two daughters, Lloya Lehnert of Fort Collins, Colorado, and Polly York of Low Moor; three sons, Mark Hodge of Lancaster, California, Lyle Hodge, of Duncanville, Texas, and Wayne Hodge of LeClaire; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Gertrude Gibson of Burlington and Jane Lehnert of Mediapolis. She was preceded in death by one sister and eight brothers. Visitation will be from 3 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory in Clinton. The funeral for Mrs. Hodge will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Camanche.
