She was born Jan. 15, 1902 at Portland, Ore., the daughter of John and Barbara Suppes Hefner,both in Topeka, and lived most of her life in Topeka. She married Winifred Henry Cromwell Sept. 23, 1923 at Topeka. He died Nov. 21, 1951. Married at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Topeka, by Rev. Francis Henry. Witness by Albert Hefner and Mary Hefner. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Helen Meier, 2539 N.W. US-24; a son, Harold Cromwell, 213 Quinton; a sister, Mrs. Mary Schoenfeld, 627 Lindenwood; a brother, Albert Hefner, 503 Twiss; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. Cromwell will lie in state from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Brennan's of Topeka where a Daughter's of Isabella rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. and parish rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. today.
