Description	:	Mrs Helen Marble Nelson Giddings, 85, widow of William Giddings, one-time druggist of Ogden, died Thursday afternoon at the family home, 2454 Adams ave, following a 4 weeks illness, due to a stroke of paralysis. She was born May 12, 1846 at Waukesha, Wis, She was married in 1875 at Beloit, Wis, and later moved to Logan, Iowa, where Mr Giddings operated a drug store. She was born May 12, 1846 at Waukesha, Wis, She was married in 1875 at Beloit, Wis, and later moved to Logan, Iowa, where Mr Giddings operated a drug store. The moved to Ogden in 1886, Mr Giddings being engaged in the drug business until his death in 1910. During the World War Mrs Giddings spent many hours knitting for those who were overseas, and many baskets of food were sent by her to the depot here for those en route on troop trains. During the influenza epidemic the Congregational church was used as an emergency hospital while the Giddings kitchen next door was the place where the food was prepared for the patients. Surviving are one sister, Mrs Eve Ross, Beloit, Wis., one sister-in-law, Mrs Emma Giddings and a daughter-in-law, Mrs Charles Giddings, both of Ogden. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday morning at the chapel of the Kirkendall-Darling mortuary with the Rev. John Edward Carver of the First Presbyterian church officiating. She will be laid to rest in the family plot at Logan, Iowa. Ogden (Utah) Standard Examiner, December 9, 1931
