I found farmer Oklela B Dunlap, 54; wife of 27 years Kate R, 47, had 6 kids, all living; daughters of sons: HENRIETTA C, 25; Lula S, 23; Charlie W R, 21; Mary K. 21; Walter M, 18 and Jennie M, 18, all VA born. On the 1920 Lexington, Rockbridge Co., VA census, I found cemetery sexton Okela B Dunlap, 64; wife Kate M, 56; daughters or son: teacher HENRIETTA C, 35; legal stenographer Lorda S, 33; hardware store salesman Charles W, 31 and Jennie M, 29. Kate was born n AR and the rest in VA. On the 1930 Lexington, Rockbridge Co., VA census, I found Charlie W M Dunlap, 41; sisters: teacher Henrietta C, 45; Lula S, 43; Jennie M Dunlap, 38, plus nephew, Osbourne D. Heard, 4, all VA born. In 1937-1938, Henrietta C Dunlap shared a paper she compiled for the Ignorance Club, titled The Shanees, Cornstalk and the Kerrs Creek Massacre. It appeared again in the Rockbridge Epilogues, #6, Winter 2017. It sourced The Annals of Augusta Co., The WInning of the West by Roosevelt and the 8 Sep 1930 Covington Virginian. She also quoted for, Rev. Dr. Samuel Brown's (1766-1818) article in the undated Rockbridge Citizen paper. "The old McKee burying ground near the Big Spring was begun when those killed in the 1st massacre were buried. The big tree in the corner has been pointed out as the place where those who suffered were laid to rest." Henrietta was related to the Dunlaps, McKees and Logans buried at the Big Spring. Henriette Campbell Dunlap was born 12 Jul 1884 in Virginia, to parents O B Dunlap and Kate R Mebane. She was a retired public school teacher.
