Description	:	Henrietta Sinning Hammerstrom was born on a farm near Dumont, IA on Nov. 28, 1903, the daughter of John H. and Effie (Burma) Osterloo. She moved with her family to a farm 1/2 mile south of Lennox in 1909 where she grew up. She graduated from Lennox High School in 1921. She received her teaching degree from Dakota Wesleyan University and Sioux Falls College and first taught school in the Lennox vicinity from 1921 t0 1924 and later from 1956 to 1970. She moved with her family to a farm 1/2 mile south of Lennox in 1909 where she grew up. She graduated from Lennox High School in 1921. She received her teaching degree from Dakota Wesleyan University and Sioux Falls College and first taught school in the Lennox vicinity from 1921 t0 1924 and later from 1956 to 1970. She then served as Lennox City Librarian for five years. On Feb. 12, 1924, she was married to George A. Sinning at Scales Mound, IL. They lived their 40 years of married life on a farm near Lennox. He preceded her in death on Aug. 24, 1964. She then moved into Lennox. She married Lester Hammerstrom on Sep. 12, 1978, in Lennox, SD. They made their home in Lennox. He preceded her in death on Jan. 20, 1987. Henrietta was an active and faithful member of Faith Presbyterian Church of Lennox and Faith Presbyterian Women. She had been a Sunday School teacher and a Bible School teacher for many years. She also was a volunteer at the Lennox Day Center and was a member of Order of the Eastern Star and was a charter member of the Lennox Senior Citizens. Besides her parents and her two husbands, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Jean Brantley, on Jan. 7, 1988; one daugher-in-law, Anita Sinning; one son-in-law, Melvin Hyronimus; one brother, John Osterloo; three sisters: Dora Temple, Anna Miller and Catherine Ludens. Henrietta died on Wed. evening, Aug. 2, 1995, at Canton Good Samaritan Center, where she had been a resident since Jun. 14. She attained the age of 91 years, eight months and four days. She is survived by four children: Lois Hyronimus, Mary Lou Jacobs and her husband, Floyd, all of Worthing; James Sinning and his wife, Barb, of Dexter, MO; and Gary Sinning and his wife, Jessie, of Kokomo, IN; a son-in-law: Floyd Brantley and his wife, Grace, of Kokomo, IN; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; plus a host of other relatives and friends.
