Read More	Obituary CC Times, April 2, 1914, Clay County, Kansas ADAM Henry Adam was born March 31, 1861 in Jennings County, Indiana, and at the age of eighteen years, in September of 1877, came to the state of Kansas. On November 22, of the year 1883, he was united in marriage to Miss Emma Niemoller, to which union was born six children, four boys and two girls: Henry Jr., Clara, Albert, Ethel and two little ones, who were called home in their infancy. At the age of eighteen he was converted and united with the German Methodist church near his home but on February 9, 1908 was received into the Wakefield Methodist church by the pastor, Rev. E. T. Lacey. Mr. Adam passed away March 21, 1914, following a seven weeks illness, in spite of all that could be done for his recovery in the way of medical skill and nursing. He was one of the very best of citizens and will be greatly missed from the community, where he has done much good work. Besides the members of the immediate family there are surviving two sisters, Mrs. Peter Koerner, of Junction City, and Mrs. P. J. Strack, of New Albany, Ind. Family services were held at the home last Tuesday afternoon, from whence the body was taken to the M. E. church, where services were conducted by Rev. A. P. Jones, with the assistance of the Rev. J. C. Warren of the Congregational church, Rev. A. S. Freese of the St. George's Episcopal church and J. F. Carter. Henry was living with his father and two sisters, Mary and Henrietta. Henry's father Henry may have died before Henry moved to Kansas in 1877. 1880 US Census, single, relation to head: Brother-in-law. Living in Republican/Wakefield, Clay, Kansas with his sister Mary, her husband and their five children. Married Emma Niemöller (Spelled: Neimiller) on Nov. 22, 1883 in Clay county, Kansas. 1885 Kansas State Census Living in Republican/Wakefield, Clay, Kansas with wife Emma. Emma may have been pregnant or already given birth to the son that was born and died that year. 1895 Kansas State Census Living in Republican/Wakefield, Clay, Kansas with wife and three children: Henry, Clara and Albert. 1900 and 1910 US Census had the same information with Henry and his wife living in Republican/Wakefield, Clay, Kansas with their four children: Henry, Clara, Albert and Ethel. 1905 Kansas State Census, same information as above except they have a Earl Cookson who was born Abt. 1885 in Kansas living in their household. No relation noted.
