Allen Trube was born July 18, 1931, in Allen, to Basil and Gladys (Allen) Trube. He graduated from Allen High School in 1949. He married Evelyn Sorensen at Salem Lutheran Church in Wakefield on Dec. 30, 1950. The couple farmed. They celebrated their 50 years together in 2000. Evelyn died Oct. 19, 2001. He was a member of United Methodist Church in Allen and served on the church board. He was a former president of the Laurel Town Twirllers Square Dance Club and a leader of a 4-H Club for many years. He served on the boards of Wakefield Health Care Center. He enjoyed all Nebraska Husker sports. Survivors include four sons and their wives, Bruce and Linda of Wilber, Neb., Terry and Rhonda of Canton, S.D., Glenn and Gloria of Lincoln, Neb., and Loren and Debra of St. Edward, Neb.; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Gwen Trube of Deming, N.M.; and two sisters-in-law, Margaret Sorensen of Minneapolis, and Mrs. Beulah Larsen of Tahlequah, Okla.
