Afternoon Relatives and lifelong friends gathered at the Peterson Funeral Home Sunday afternoon to attend the funeral of Henry A. Eggert, who passed away at his home in this city last Thursday afternoon. Rev W. L. Elliott conducted the services and W. H. Menzie, accompanied at the piano by Violet Keek, sang "No Night There" and "The Nearer The Sweeter". The Passing of Mr. Eggert on the eve of his 82nd birthday not only removes one of the state's true pioneers but breaks the first tie among the six Eggert brothers and sisters, all of when are above 74 years of age. Seldom is a family privileged to enjoy a companionship that covers almost three quarters of a century---but such has been the experience of this family, all pioneers of Hamilton county. All energetic man who experienced the joys and the hardships of early life in Nebraska, Mr Eggert was a kindly friend and neighbor who was devoted to his family---- his was an exemplary life. Henry A. Eggert was born on July 29, 1859 to Henry and Henriette Eggert of Bureau county, Ill., and departed this liefe at his home in Aurora, Nebr. on July 24, 1941, at the age of 81 years, 11 months and 25 days. When he was 21 year of age he came to Hamilton county, Neb. where he spend the balance of his life. On December 25, 1883 he was united in marriage to Lizzie Baker. Three children were born to this union, two of whom, with the widow, survive him. One son, Charlie Theodore, preceded him in death. He leaves the following relative to mourn his passing: Lizzie, his beloved wife; a son, Merle H.. of Phillips, Nebr.; a daughter Minnie Garrett of Los Angeles, Calif.; three brothers, Emil J., Charles S. and William A. Eggert all of Aurora; two sisters, Mrs. Lena Barrick of Aurora and Mrs Etta McCarthy of Orange, Calif.; eight grandchildren and one great- grandchild, besides a host of other relative and friends. Pallbearers were Wm. Sautier, Russell, Bird, Lawrence Hafer, N.S. Brown, Louie Luthy and Frank Sims. Mrs. John Cox and Wilma Lewis had charge of the flowers which were beautiful and abundant. Interment was in the Aurora cemetery. Out-of-town relatives in attendance were the daughter, Mrs. Cecil Garrett of Los Angeles and Mrs. Mabel Stenner of Kansas City Published Aurora News-Register.
