Skidmore Former Fulton County treasurer Henry Clay "Hank" SKIDMORE, 79, of 318 W. 12th St., died at 3:10 p.m. Sunday in Woodlawn Hospital, where he had been a patient for one week. He was born May 18, 1908 in Rosslyn, Ky., to Albert and Carrie EWEN SKIDMORE. He moved here 67 years ago from Stanton, Ky. He was married Aug. 21, 1938 in Rochester to Ruth PLETCHER, who survives. For a number of years, he and his brother Forrest [SKIDMORE] owned and operated the Phillips 66 service station on Main Street a half-block south of Ninth Street. Mr. Skidmore was Fulton County treasurer for eight years, Rochester Township trustee for eight years, and had served on the Rochester Schol Board. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, and for over 50 years had been a member of the Rochester I.O.O.F. Lodge. He, his brothers and his father played on the former Rochester Merchants baseball team for a number of years. Surviving with the wife are two sons, Tom [SKIDMORE], Indianapolis, and Steve [SKIDMORE], Rochester; five grandchildren, Chris, Anne and Pat SKIDMORE, Indianapolis, and Emily and Kacie SKIDMORE, Rochester; his step-mother, Mrs. Ferol SKIDMORE, Peabody Home, North Manchester; a sister, Mrs. Max (Norine) BAILEY, Milton, Fla., and nieces and nephews. Preceding in death were his parents and three brothers, Forrest, Vic and Bill SKIDMORE]. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Foster & Good Funeral Home, Rochester, with the Rev. Russ WILBUR officiating. Burial will be in the Rochester I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, and on Wednesday an hour before services. Memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church.
