"Ike" Dejana died Friday Oct. 20, at Missouri River Medical Center of natural causes. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 24, at Benton Funeral Home. "Ike" Dejana died Friday Oct. 20, at Missouri River Medical Center of natural causes. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 24, at Benton Funeral Home. Henry "Ike" Dejana was born in Antey, Italy, province of Aosta, on Sept. 18, 1907, to Luis and Caroline Dejana. He came to Montana with his mother in 1909, settling with his parents in Sand Coulee. He attended schools in Sand Coulee and Centerville High School. He worked as a coal miner in Stockett-Sand Coulee area until he was drafted April 15, 1942, into WWII, where he served with the Army in the Engineering Corps of the European theater, being discharged in 1945. He returned to Montana and began working in Great Falls for Phillips Refinery as a pipefitter until 1962. At that time he began working on the missile crews all over Montana and retired in 1969. In 1979 he moved to Fort Benton. Henry was a member of the pipefitters union, of Cascade Masonic Lodge #34, and the VFW. He is survived by his sister, Ida Wolf, of Fort Benton; two nephews, Gary Wolf of Las Vegas, and Richard Dejana of Kalispell; three nieces, Phyllis Sayer of Boise, Willi Dejana of Great Falls and Elaine Roze of Palm Desert, Calif., plus numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, William, in 1967.
