Description	:	Henry Edward Eaddy, Sr. died in the McLeod Infirmary at Florence after a long illness Members of the Indiantown Masonic Lodge will serve as honorary pallbearers. Mr. Eaddy was the last surviving of the founding fathers of Hemingway who took initiative in developing the town both civically and industrially. He worked very hard to establish the first tobacco market here, state highways, and power lines. He was president of the former Planters Bank which was one of Hemingway's first banks. Mr. Eaddy was the last surviving of the founding fathers of Hemingway who took initiative in developing the town both civically and industrially. He worked very hard to establish the first tobacco market here, state highways, and power lines. He was president of the former Planters Bank which was one of Hemingway's first banks. Mr Eaddy was a pioneer merchant of Hemingway, having owned and operated a large mercantile company here for 30 years. He was formally chairman of the school board for 20 years and was instrumental in securing four acres of land which is presently being used for the school site. With his influence, the valuable land was purchased for $50 and acre. He was a prominent farmer in Florence and Williamsburg Counties and a real estate owner in Hemingway. Mr. Eaddy has been made a life member of the Indiantown Masonic Lodge No. 165 of Hemingway and he had been issued his 50 year membership pin by the lodge. He was one of the organizers and founders of the First Methodist Church of Hemingway. He was educated in local schools, Carlisle Fitting School and Wafford College.
