Funeral services were held at 3:30 pm Wednesday at the Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Hemingway with the Rev. David Spivey, the Rev. C. H. Beard and the Rev. Charles Moore officiating. Funeral services were held at 3:30 pm Wednesday at the Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Hemingway with the Rev. David Spivey, the Rev. C. H. Beard and the Rev. Charles Moore officiating. Burial was in the Old Johnsonville Cemetery. Pallbearers were Eugene Huggins, St. Clair Huggins, Edwin Huggins, Bertie Huggins, Carroll Eaddy,Edward Eaddy, Warren Eaddy, Bill Mercer and Don Eaddy. Mr. Eaddy was born in the Hemingway section of Williamsburg County on March 9, 1896, a son of the late Zachary Taylor Eaddy and Judith Grier Eaddy. He was educated in local schools and Welch School at Orangeburg. Mr. Eaddy retired from the post office in 1954 after 38 years as a rural carrier at Hemingway. He was a member and past worshipful master of the Masonic Lodge No. 165 and a charter member of the Hemingway Chapter No. 156, Order of the Eastern Star. Surviving are: his widow, Mrs Elizabeth E. Wadell Eaddy; four daughters, Mrs. G. W. (Carolyn) King of Charleston, Mrs. V. R. (Lynnette) Payne of Bradenton, Fla., Mrs. W. B. (Elizabeth) Wyndham of Georgetown, Mrs. A. J. (Dot) Moynehan, Jr. of Cleveland, Ohio; three sons, George Taylor Eaddy of Hemingway, Livingston L. Eaddy of Lake City and Ulmer S. Eaddy, Jr. of Charlotte, N.C.; three sisters, Mrs. Margaret E. Huggins of Hemingway, Mrs. H. W. Talavast and Mrs. R.O. Mercer both of Myrtle Beach; two brothers, Fitzhugh L. Eaddy of Lake City and Rupert H. Eaddy of Hemingway; 19 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
