Read More	Henry Edward Perlenfein Henry Perlenfein was born in Anoka, Nebraska on June 27, 1899, to Gottlab and Eva (Ulmer) Perlenfein and passed away at the Lake Andes Health Care Center on August 3, 1991. When still a small child he moved with his family to a homestead south of Bonesteel where he grew to young manhood until 1924 when he joined his brother Guss in Chicago, Illinois where he drove for the Yellow Cab Company. They returned to Nebraska several years later where they purchased an automotive business in Spencer, Nebraska. In 1929 they moved to Bonesteel after purchasing the Chevrolet Agency and Garage which they operated until 1964. During the intervening years he served as a volunteer fireman, assisted with the formation of a Boy Scout Troop and served in any other capacity needed for the betterment of the Community. Henry was greatly interested in politics which led to his being elected to the office of Gregory County sheriff in 1946, serving for two terms. After his retirement he was Mayor of Bonesteel for several years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 62 years serving in many posts as well as being Worshipful Master. In Omaha, Nebraska on December 3, 1928 Henry was married to Agnes Warnke. They were good and devoted parents to Donna, Mrs. Saylor Stanton, of Yuba City, California, to Norman of Rochester, Minnesota, and Marvin who preceded him in death in 1981. Henry celebrated his 92nd birthday in June and talked about all the changes he'd seen from having to hitch up the team to going to town to do the Saturday "Trading", to seeing men walk in space. He had many interests and enjoyed hunting and fishing and horse shoe pitching as well as being an avid bowler. He will be greatly missed by his children, five grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, many, nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Henry was the last surviving member of the Gottlab and Eva Perlenfein family of which there were ten children. Preceding him in death were his wife Agnes in 1968, a son Marvin in 1981, grandson Butchie in 1953 and his 4 brothers, 5 sisters and parents.
