Marvin was born to Henry and Agnes Warnke Perlenfein in Bonesteel, South Dakota on March 10, 1931. He died Sept. 10, 1981 of a massive heart attack while he was at work in Loveland, Colorado. Read More	Marvin Duane Perlenfein Funeral services were held at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Bonesteel, South Dakota on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 1981 for Marvin Duane Perlenfein. Marvin was born to Henry and Agnes Warnke Perlenfein in Bonesteel, South Dakota on March 10, 1931. He died Sept. 10, 1981 of a massive heart attack while he was at work in Loveland, Colorado. Marvin was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith. He received his education at the Bonesteel Public School and graduated in 1949. After graduation he worked in the Chevrolet Garage with his father until he went into the Air force Jan. 4, 1951. After his basic training, he was sent to Korea where he served as a cryptographer for a little over a year. He finished out his military career in Minot, North Dakota before being discharged in December of 1954. He returned to South Dakota and worked for several farmers and ranchers in the Bonesteel area before being employed as a Cryptographer for the Civil Service in Washington, D.C. He later transferred to the Postal Service in a similar position. Marvin missed being with family and friends and returned to Bonesteel and was employed by the State Highway Department for several years before moving to Colorado in 1966 where he worked at several different positions before being employed by the Loveland Excavating Company where he worked for the last twelve years. He was a member of the V.F.W. and Moose Lodge in Loveland and was a past member of the American Legion Post in Bonesteel. Memorial services were held at Hunter's Garden Chapel in Loveland on Sept. 12. Funeral services in Bonesteel were conducted by Father Patrick Igoe with Vincent Warnke, Marv's cousin, as lector. Mass servers were Tim and Vic Warnke. Soloist was Marv's cousin, Dr. Cindy Lillibridge, accompanied by Ellen Schmitz on the organ. Pall bearers were James Perlenfein, Joe Hausmann, Lester Skalla, Ed Boes, Thomas Perlenfein and John Rustemeyer. Full Military Rites and burial were at the Rosebud Cemetery in Bonesteel. Preceding him in death was his mother, Agnes Perlenfein in 1968 and a nephew, Butch Stanton in 1953. Those left to mourn his early passing include his father, Henry Perlenfein of Bonesteel, sister, Donna, Mrs. Saylor Stanton, of Sutter, California, his brother, Norman Perlenfein of Rochester, Minnesota and their spouses as well as nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends. "Pearly", as he was known to his many friends, will be remembered as a kind and generous person who never hesitated to help wherever he could without waiting to be asked. He loved the out of doors and took time to pick up his fishing pole and go fishing, or pack his camper and go on a hunting expedition for either big game in Colorado, or the South Dakota Ring Necked Pheasant. He was an avid bowler - with a shelf full of trophies as proof of his skill. He also enjoyed a good game of cards. The Chapel in Loveland, as well as the Church in Bonesteel, was full to overflowing with his many friends. As Father Igoe said, "There can be no greater tribute than this." As he looked out over the large number of people gathered to pay their last respects to their friend, "Pearly".
