Description	:	Henry Elton Bohling, son of Bertha Fauser and George Bohling, was born on Dec. 1, 1911, Fontanelle, Iowa. He was the oldest of four children. He was baptized in the Name of the Triune God in early childhood. He received his formal education in the Fontanelle School. In 1916, he accompanied his parents to Chicago, where they made their home until 1919. It was at Chicago, in 1918, that his father and one sister, Anna, passed away during the flu epidemic. Read More	Henry Elton Bohling, son of Bertha Fauser and George Bohling, was born on Dec. 1, 1911, Fontanelle, Iowa. He was the oldest of four children. He was baptized in the Name of the Triune God in early childhood. He received his formal education in the Fontanelle School. In 1916, he accompanied his parents to Chicago, where they made their home until 1919. It was at Chicago, in 1918, that his father and one sister, Anna, passed away during the flu epidemic. In the year 1919, the family moved back to Fontanelle. During his youth, he was employed on various farms in the Fontanelle community. From March 1942 until December 1945 he spent in the Armed Forces of his country. On Sept. 25, 1942, he was united in marriage with Pauline Herr. To this union three sons were born. In 1946, he and his wife began farming for Max Lynch. In 1951, he and his family moved to a farm northwest of Fontanelle, which was his home for the remainder of his earthly life. As an adult, he was instructed in the doctrines of God's word and became a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Fontanelle, on May 25, 1947. He was a member of that church for the remainder of his life. On June 29, 1964, he entered Veteran's Hospital at Des Moines, where he submitted to surgery. On Jan. 9, 1965, he re-entered the Veteran's Hospital for more surgery. During recent months he was hospitalized at different intervals for continual treatment. After many months of illness, growing steadily weaker, he passed from this life at Veteran's Hospital, Des Moines, on July 6, 7:30 p.m. at the age of 53 years, 7 months and 5 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Anna, and one brother George. He is survived by his wife, Pauline and three sons, Wayne, Don and Lynn, all at home; one sister, Mildred Brandon, Massena; besides other relatives and many friends in the Fontanelle Community where he lived for a half century. Besides the floral tributes given in memory of Henry Bohling, there have also been numerous cash memorials given for various causes.
